Week 1: Providence
When fasting for providence it’s always a great idea to know exactly what you are asking for. This should give us a context for prayer.
Provident – providing for future needs or events; exercising or characterized by foresight.
Providence – 1) a looking to, or preparation for, the future; provision 2) skill or wisdom in management, prudence 3) the care or benevolent guidance of God or nature 4) God as the guiding power of the universe. Latin: foresight

S – Scripture: read it, normally 2-3 times and let it soak in
O – Observation: what stands out to you, do you have any questions
A – Application: how does this passage apply to you? Are there any truths that you need to put into practice?
P – Prayer: talk to Jesus about it, especially if you don’t understand something! You can also pray the scripture. Exp. Matt. 6:19-20 “Lord you said not to store up treasures here on earth, but in heaven. Please give me the courage and strength to live out your Word and deny who I am and follow you.”
